Developed over nearly three years in collaboration with Master Blender Manuel Inoa at the prestigious La Aurora Cigars factory, STILTSVILLE is a bold celebration of Miami’s unique past and the vibrant culture that continues to define it.
STILTSVILLE pays homage to the famed wooden structures perched above the shallows of Biscayne Bay, just off the coast of Cape Florida. Once a haven for rum-runners, socialites, and political elites, the area became known in the 1940s and 50s as a lively escape, unofficially bustling with vice, luxury, and freedom. These homes on stilts, resilient through hurricanes and time, represent a part of Old Florida with strong character, and it is that very essence this blend aims to capture.
To honor this rich and bold history, the STILTSVILLE blend features a 5 year aged, triple-fermented Dark Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper that envelops binder and filler tobaccos aged in 32-year-old fire cured white oak barrels from Kentucky that once held award-winning Dominican rum. Aging tobacco for nearly a year in these barrels delivers a rich and refined robust smoking experience, one that builds in character, aroma, and flavor with every draw.
“This project is about storytelling,” says Dr. Gaby Kafie, founder of Kafie 1901 Cigars and the Boutique Cigar Association. “Nearly three decades ago, I was drawn to Miami because of its soul. STILTSVILLE brings to life the beauty and mystery of the place that captured my imagination. It’s my love letter to this city.”
STILTSVILLE has a very special place in Dr. Kafie’s heart, it marks the beginning of his journey into fly fishing, a passion that further deepened his love for the sea and the mastery of the hunt. “I am a lover of the ocean and the artistry behind fly fishing. This creation is a testament to my life story, my journey over the past 30 years, and what the city of Miami truly has to offer,” he adds. “Look beyond the lights, what you will find is paradise.”
